Power was knocked out for hundreds Thursday morning after police say a driver drifted off-road and hit a transformer power box.
The accident happened just after midnight at the intersection of Union and Powers in Colorado Springs.
According to police, the woman involved may have fallen asleep at the wheel, causing her to crash into the transformer and a light pole. The accident caused a power outage for 450 customers in the area and knocked out the traffic lights at the intersection.
The driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
As of 5 a.m. power was fully restored.
