Pueblo Police say the capture of one man has led to a reduction in burglaries and the solution to almost a dozen cases.

According to reports issued today, on Feb. 4 officers responded to the 2500 block of N. Greenwood regarding a burglary in progress. Upon arrival, they began chasing a male suspect observed running from a home.

That male was identified as 18 year old Emanuel Gallegos. With the help of residents in the area, he was captured and taken to jail on burglary charges.

Through an extensive investigation, which included multiple search warrants,
checking known associates and identifying items in local pawn shops, detectives were able to link Gallegos to 11 burglaries in Pueblo’s North side. The detectives were also able to identify and charge an accomplice of Gallegos, who is his mother, 33 year old Jamie Gallegos.

The hard work and dedication to solving this case resulted in the recovery and return of over $2,000 in jewelry and the closure of 11 burglaries.

Since Gallegos’ capture, burglaries in the North side area of Pueblo have been reduced by 34% .

If anyone has any information regarding other incidents related to Gallegos, you are urged to call Pueblo Police Detective Martin at 553-2535 or Pueblo Crime Stoppers @ 542-STOP (542-7867).
