COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - Call center giant Firstsource Solutions Ltd. plans to close its Colorado Springs center in September, leaving all 300 employees there without a job.
The company reportedly made the decision after a client ended its contract with the company. Firstsource did not identify the client.
The company had touted the Colorado Springs operation as the centerpiece of its expansion into financial services in the western United States.
Firstsource employs nearly 30,000 people worldwide at 48 centers in the United States, United Kingdom, India, the Philippines and Sri Lanka. It serves more than 100 clients in the banking, insurance, health care, media and telecommunications industries, including 21 companies in the Fortune 500.
