One man is dead after possibly falling asleep at the wheel.
Colorado State Patrol says the victim was headed east on Prowers County Road 196, 15 miles outside of Lamar, when he started drifting off the road. He then overcorrected and caused his vehicle to skid across the road before going off the other side backwards. He collided with a ditch, rolled and was partially ejected.
State Patrol says the victim was not wearing a seat belt, and died at the scene. He has been identified as 33-year-old Faustino Perez-Benitez.
Alcohol and drugs are not suspected in the crash. State Patrol believes falling asleep at the wheel is the primary factor.
