A lot of people are hitting the road or flying to get to their holiday destination.
Travelers tell 11 News that patience is key if you are traveling through the weekend.

"Traffic is starting, so it's pretty bad right now," said Rosie Quiros.
11 News also checked with the Colorado Springs Airport. Officials tell us they are starting to see an increase in passengers and are expecting that to continue through the weekend.
We caught up with a few travelers as they arrived to the airport to see if they were expecting long waits.
"It is the holidays so yeah, it is going to be a busy one," said Chris Pospahala.
"Not necessarily. This is a pretty small airport so I'm hoping I can just get on my flight pretty easy," said Gordy Bullen.
We're told there were delays on and off throughout the day Friday because of the weather.
Airport officials say the best advice is to call ahead to check on your flight to make sure there are no problems.
Meanwhile up at Denver International Airport, they added 200 flights to accommodate all of the extra fliers.
