Police have arrested one suspect and are looking for two others accused of stealing as much as $100,000 from more than 50 victims.
Investigators say the trio is responsible for a string of crimes stretching along the Front Range from Denver to Pueblo. Those crimes include identity theft, using fraudulent credit cards and theft.
Authorities say the victims include individuals, merchants and banks.
Monument police Lt. Steve Burk says stolen personal and financial information was used to make purchases at retail stores. Burk declined to say how victims were chosen or how their information was obtained.
Geider Morales, 24, was arrested Tuesday morning. Police are still looking for Kimberly Danais Navas, 21, and Eriec Joseph Rodriguez-Morales, 33.
SWAT officers descended on two homes in Monument Tuesday in an effort to locate and arrest all three suspects. Those homes are located on the 17000 block of Crestview Court and the 15000 block of James Gate Place.
Morales was arrested and faces charges for identity theft, theft, money laundering, forgery, and computer crimes. Rodriguez-Morales and Navas are still on the loose.
Seven other people who were in the homes were also taken into custody during the raid, but were later released.
The raid was a joint effort between the Monument Police Department, Colorado Springs Police Department and the El Paso County Sheriff's Office.
