Springs police are warning residents in the Gold Camp Road area to beware if an unknown couple comes to their door.

There have been a string of burglaries at homes in the area over the last week, and police believe a man and woman could be behind them.

Several residents say a young white couple in their early 20s have knocked on their door asking about a missing dog. Whenever the resident asks for more information about the dog, the suspects immediately take off.

The couple has been seen around the same time as many of the burglaries, leading police to suspect they could be casing the homes.

The couple have been seen in a white Mazda hatchback, unknown plate or year. If you have any information about these suspects, or if you encounter them, you are asked to call police at 444-7000 or Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP.
