Police have one person in custody for allegedly breaking into vehicles in a Springs neighborhood Tuesday morning.

Officers were called to the 4700 block of Wilde Drive, near South Academy and Airport, at 3:30 a.m. after a resident spotted a light on in his vehicle, then saw someone jump out and run off.

Police searched the area and found the suspect a half-mile away in the area of Vehr Drive and Dewey Drive. The suspect was taken into custody 30 minutes after officers first received the call.

Police say the suspect may have broken into three vehicles. The incident is still under investigation.
