The start of the work week brings in a series of disturbances... we'll see better, more widespread rain chances across S Colorado, cloudier skies and the possibility of locally heavy rain. The burn scar will need to be closely monitored during the early portions of the week due to an elevated risk for flash flooding. Some storms, especially in the E Plains, could become strong to severe with large hail, strong winds and lightning. Head on over to the "Weather" tab for a full look at the week ahead.
Northbound and southbound Nevada Avenue, north of Jackson Street and south of Fillmore Street, will experience traffic delays on Thursday, April 25 as cement trucks enter and exit the construction site for placement of a new concrete bridge deck.
Drivers are advised to expect delays and use alternate routes when possible.
The project is anticipated to last another year with the northbound bridge being closed for approximately two additional months. Northbound traffic will be diverted onto the southbound bridge. Once the northbound repairs have been completed, construction will shift to the southbound bridge for another six months.
