A little boy has died at the hospital after being pulled from a Colorado reservoir.
The incident happened at approximately 5:30 p.m. Saturday at the Chatfield Reservoir in Douglas County.
Witnesses told KKTV sister station KCNC that bystanders dove into the water to try to save the boy.
“There were a bunch of people on the shore that were jumping in the water to help him,” Brenda Young told KCNC. “There was people jumping in everywhere.”
“It was very frantic and the other gentleman was very frantic also,” said Steve Steele. “It was very muddy and we couldn’t see underwater.”
A dive and rescue team pulled the boy from the water. He was taken to the hospital where he later died.
The boy's name and age have not been released.
