Boulder DA Won't Share Views On JonBenet Slaying

By  |

Boulder County District Attorney Stan Garnett says neither he nor his staff will publically discuss the evidence in the 1996 slaying of JonBenet Ramsey unless a case is filed in open court.

Garnett, who took office in 2009, made the statement in an op-ed published in the Daily Camera (http://bit.ly/18reUQz ) on Sunday, two days after newly unsealed documents revealed that a grand jury found enough evidence to indict JonBenet's parents for child abuse and accessory to first-degree murder in the death of the 6-year-old.

The DA at the time, Alex Hunter, decided there wasn't enough evidence to warrant charges against the Ramseys.

Garnett wrote "I don't know if I would have made the same decision, but I know how difficult these decisions are."

JonBenet's body was found in the basement of her family's Boulder home.
