After lying in limbo for almost three weeks, the body of deceased Boston Marathon bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev has been buried.
Tsarnaev was killed last month during a shootout with police in Cambridge just hours after the FBI publicly released photos of the bombing suspects.
Since May 3, his body had sat in a Worchester, Mass. funeral home. Despite a desperate search by the funeral home director and Tsarnaev's uncle, no cemetery in Massachusetts was willing to accept the body. There had been offers from people out of state, including the founder of the Colorado Muslim Society.
Police had been forced to guard the Graham Putnam and Mahoney Funeral home around the clock, at a cost of $10,000 a day.
Thursday, police announced that Tsarnaev's body had been "entombed." Tsarnaev's uncle has confirmed it was not in Massachusetts.
According to CNN, a source says the suspect was buried in a Muslim cemetery in Doswell, Va.
