A lot of drivers were stuck in traffic Tuesday on Highway 24.
It was the first day of some major construction near Manitou Springs.
Crews are installing an extra-large culvert under the highway to help prevent the flash flooding we saw last summer.
CDOT says a rollover crash, a stalled car and the first day of construction all contributed to the backups.
Some drivers told us it took them an hour and a half to get through the area.
CDOT says instead of traffic moving in both directions, they had to alternate traffic to stripe the lines in the construction zone. They're finished with that now, so that will help a lot with Wednesday's traffic.
CDOT says Wednesday they do anticipate some backups and delays, but nothing like Tuesday.
