We've learned bed bugs were found at a local school.

A District 11 spokesperson says two dead bed bugs were found at in employee locker room.

A letter was sent to parents Tuesday, letting them know about the situation.

The principal says kids don't have access to that employee locker room. The bed bugs were found in an employee's locker. D11 is now exterminating the area completely.

This is the letter that was sent home to parents:

Dear Mitchell Parents/Guardians,

Mitchell staff just learned that a routine pest inspection in one of our employee locker rooms resulted in the finding of two dead bed bugs. Please be assured that we have identified the source, taken steps to exterminate this area completely, and health inspectors will be sure the problem is cleared before we allow any access to this area. No students are allowed in this area, and limited staff is allowed access to this area so we do believe this is an isolated incident.
