Some Springs residents are waking up to find their basements have been flooded with sewer water.

Crews working at the scene tell 11 News that the problems started with a water main break. The water flooded into a manhole, which in turn caused the sewer to back up into people’s homes. It also caused a sinkhole on Fascination Circle.

It’s happening on Fascination Circle. That is off of South Carefree Circle near Oro Blanco. South Carefree Circle is closed from Oro Blanco to Enchanted Circle.

Twenty Three homes are without water because of the break. At least eight homes have sewage backup, but crews say that number could increase at people wake up and find their homes flooded.

Police tell us the closure on South Carefree Circle is likely to remain in place throughout the morning. That is because water from the break is freezing onto South Carefree Circle, making the road too dangerous to reopen.
