Basement Fire Under Control

Firefighters quickly got the upper hand on a small fire in a basement Tuesday morning, getting it under control within a few minutes of arriving on scene.

The fire was first reported just after 4 a.m. in the basement of a home on the 3100 block of Mission Street in Colorado Springs. Firefighters had it under control by 4:09 a.m.

All occupants got out of the home safely. The Red Cross is helping six adults who were displaced. No injuries were reported.

At this time, it's unknown what caused the fire.
