Police have determined the gun used by Evan Ebel in Texas was the same weapon used in the shooting death of Department of Corrections Director Tom Clements.
The Colorado Springs Metro Crime Lab came to this conclusion after completing an analysis of shell casings collected from the shootout in north Texas last week. The El Paso County Sheriff's Office says analysis is based on unique markings left on the casings at both crime scenes.
Investigators are still working to determine whether or not Ebel acted alone in the shooting of Clements.
Clements was shot at his home in Monument on March 19 at 8:47 p.m. Family and others held a memorial service for him in Colorado Springs Monday morning.
