A system producing heavy snow in the central mountains arrives in SE Colorado overnight Sunday into Monday bringing moisture, windy conditions and colder temperatures. Snow showers will be possible across the I-25 corridor to start the day. This system will produce bands of snow through the day Monday. Areas under these bands will see periods of heavy snowfall which, with windy conditions, could create travel difficulties. A former babysitter has been convicted of sexually assaulting a child under his care.
The 18th Judicial District Attorney's Office says Justin Jefferson molested the little boy in 2010 while babysitting over the summer.
This was the second conviction for Jefferson, who had previously pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a babysitting charge in Aurora. Both families reportedly found Jefferson through the website care.com.
“This case is a chilling reminder that our children are at risk if left with strangers," District Attorney George Brauchler said in a statement. "Certainly no other child will be victimized by Justin Jefferson. We urge anyone who may have hired Justin Jefferson to contact us if he was ever in their home or alone with their child. As a parent of young children, I am determined to make sure that these predatory practices are discovered and punished. Nobody gets to victimize our children with impunity.”
Parents who used Jefferson as a babysitter between the years of 2009 and 2011 are asked to contact authorities if they suspect their child may have been one of his victims.
