Snow and rain will continue to taper from north. Main roads should stay just wet overnight and through early Thursday. Secondary roads and any bridges and overpasses away from city warmth will be icy, so be careful. Locally dense fog will be an issue for the early morning too. A man attempting to evade authorities forced a lockdown at an elementary school Thursday afternoon.
The Pueblo County Sheriff's Office says they had gone to the suspect's home in Avondale after receiving a report that he was violating a restraining order from a previous domestic violence case. The suspect ran after seeing authorities.
For more than an hour, deputies searched the area, causing Avondale Elementary School to go on lockdown.
After an hour, the suspect called the Sheriff's Office and turned himself in. He had been swimming in a ditch, and had to be taken to the hospital to be checked out for hypothermia.
School will be operating as normal Friday.
