Aviation Training At Fort Carson Begins Monday

Don't be alarmed if you see more helicopters than usual flying in the Colorado Springs area over the next couple of weeks.

Fort Carson is hosting hundreds of soldiers out of Kansas while they conduct aerial training over the next two and a half weeks.

The 1st Infantry Division's 1st Combat Aviation Brigade out of Fort Riley has sent nearly 300 soldiers and 29 helicopters to the Mountain Post for high-altitude aviation training. Kiowas, Apaches and Blackhawks are among the helicopters being used.

The training begins Monday and will run through Dec. 14.
