Pictures Released Of Suspected Bank Robber

For the second time in as many months, a bank in Monument was robbed.

Authorities are now searching for the suspect, who got away with an undisclosed amount of cash. The El Paso County Sheriff's Office has released surveillance photos in hopes that someone in the public may recognize him.

According to the Sheriff's Office, a white male entered the Peoples Bank on Woodmoor just before 12:30 p.m. Monday, made a beeline for the teller counter and demanded money. After the teller complied, the suspect took off on foot.

The suspect is described as a white man, 6 feet to 6-foot-5 with a slim build. He was wearing blue jeans, a dark long-sleeve shirt, a dark ball cap and glasses.

The Sheriff's Office says there may have been a vehicle stopped on the northbound side of I-25 in the Monument area around the time of the robbery. They ask that anyone who thinks they spotted this vehicle call the Sheriff's Office.

The same Peoples Bank was robbed on May 24 of this year. There are several similarities concerning the suspect's description and suspect's actions during each event.

Anyone with information is asked to call 719-390-5555.
