Authorities are clearing a crash on the far northeast side of Colorado Springs.

Police tell 11 News that a sheriff's deputy "failed to observe a vehicle stopping" as he approached the intersection of Woodmen and Black Forest Road, and rear-ended the vehicle in front of him. That vehicle then hit a vehicle in front of it.

The deputy was the only one hurt, and police say the injuries were not severe enough to warrant hospitalization.
