Police in Aurora are trying to figure out what led to an early morning shooting.

It happened Tuesday morning, the shooting left one dead, and two badly injured.

The crime happened just before 3 a.m. in the 1400 block of Lima Street. Neighbors called police and reported hearing shots.

When police arrived at the apartment they found a man and a woman inside, both with gunshot wounds.

The man died on his way to the hospital or shortly after arriving there. The woman was described as having non-life threatening injuries.

Officers also found a man with gunshot wounds in an alley near the apartment. That man was also taken to the hospital and he was described as having life threatening injuries.

Police were on the scene at 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday. They said there’s a possibility that another person may have been involved in the incident, but so far they haven’t said anything more about that.

Authorities are treating the case as a homicide at this time.
The investigation is still on-going.
