Four young men are facing charges tonight after a witness called the cops. They're accused of breaking into cars near Fountain and Chelton. Police are not releasing their names because of their ages.
Police were told to look for a dark colored sport utility vehicle Sunday night. In total, four vehicles had been broken into--but it could have been more if the witness hadn't called police. Someone who lives in the area told 11 News that if more people acted like the witness, things could get better in the Fountain/Chelton neighborhood.
"This area is kind of forgotten about,” Andrew Hamilton said. “And there's a lot of crime that goes on around here that they get so used to that, it's just easier to ignore. So, I think if the police did listen to the people living around here, they'd be able to do something about it."
