Two years after he vanished at a lake straddling the Texas-Mexico border, the family of David Hartley might finally receive justice.

Authorities in Mexico announced Monday that a suspect in the case had been arrested on murder charges.

According to his wife Tiffany Hartley, the couple was ambushed by armed men on boats while jet-skiing on Falcon Lake in September of 2010. David was shot in the head.

A regional leader of the drug cartel Zetas, Salvador Alfonso Martinez Escobedo, was arrested for David Hartley's murder last week. He's also a suspect in the 2010 massacre of 72 Mexican migrants and the killing of a Mexican police officer who was leading the investigation into David Hartley's disappearance.

The couple was living in Texas at the time, but are natives of Colorado. Tiffany Hartley moved back following her husband's death, and has spent the last two years trying to get the U.S. government to increase the pressure on the Mexican government to do more in the case.
