Arizona Murder Suspect Arrested In Colorado

A man accused of brutally murdering an Arizona woman in her own home has been arrested in Colorado.

In a press release, U.S. Marshals say they arrested Corey D. Allen, 28, in Leadville, Colo. Allen is accused of shooting and killing Linda Perelli-Brown on November 25, 2012 in San Tan Valley, Arizona.

The Pinal County Sheriff's Office in Arizona says they got a 911 call from the victim's daughter saying one of her male acquaintances was threatening her mother. Investigators say Pereiil-Brown was shot execution-style while on the phone with her daughter and pleading for her life.

Authorities eventually received information that Allen might be hiding in a home southwest of Denver. Colorado-based marshals and task force officers were able to use the information and narrow down the search to Leadville. Allen was found there, and arrested without incident.

Allen was arrested March 8, 2013 and booked into the Lake County, Colorado jail, where he awaits extradition to Arizona.

Pinal County Arizona Sheriff Paul Babeu says he hopes prosecutors will pursue the death penalty for Allen.
