A man was taken to the hospital Sunday night after allegedly being stabbed during an argument with a woman.

A man was taken to the hospital Sunday night after allegedly being stabbed during an argument with a woman.

Fountain police say they were called to the the Fountain Inn on Champlin Drive just before 10:30 p.m. Sunday, but learned the stabbing actually took place about a mile away on the 500 block of Royalty Place.

Police say the woman stabbed the man one time. He was taken to the hospital in serious condition, but is expected to survive, according to police.

The suspect is identified as Joyce Freeman. She is being charged with assault.

The victim's name has not been released.
