A driver crashed into a pair of parked cars Saturday morning, totaling both vehicles and his own.
The impact was so hard that the driver's vehicle caught fire, and all of the tires on one of the other vehicles popped off.
The crash happened around 3 a.m. at the intersection of Cheyenne Boulevard, Cascade and Tejon in southwest Colorado Springs. Police say the driver was traveling on Tejon and veered off the roadway as he approached Cheyenne Boulevard, traveling up into a residential driveway and crashing into the other cars. Officers believe the driver was drunk.
Police say the driver fled the crash site, but a number of witnesses saw him and pointed officers in the direction he ran towards. As of this report, police have not confirmed whether or not they have located him.
