Early voting in Colorado started a week and a half ago, and to say many are taking advantage of it is probably an understatement.

Out of 3.5 million registered voters in Colorado, 1.1 million have taken advantage of early voting. With early voting continuing through Friday evening, that number will likely continue to swell.

For the presidential race, Colorado has been too close to call, with both President Obama and Mitt Romney enjoying a razor-thin edge depending on the poll. Though Colorado has released the party affiliation of those casting an early ballot, that data does little to provide clarity to the state of the race in Colorado: 38 percent of those voting early are registered Republicans, 35 percent are registered Democrats. Votes will not be counted until Election Day on November 6.

Across the country, 19 million people have voted early.
