Parents may have been worried about a report from Sunrise Elementary School in the Security/Widefield area.
A child reported seeing another child being pulled into a car Friday morning.
A spokesperson from the school district confirmed with 11 News Sunrise and three other schools in the district were checked and all students were accounted for Friday.
The district released the following statement in an e-mail to parents.
"Today (Nov. 2) at approximately 10:30 a.m., the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office informed Widefield School District it had received a report of a possible child abduction near Sunrise Elementary.
The Sheriff’s Office and school district worked collaboratively and were able to account for every student who was present or absent at Sunrise, King Elementary, Webster Elementary and James Madison Charter Academy. The Sheriff’s Office has deemed the report a suspicious incident.
As always, the district maintains a strong focus on student safety before, during and after school. The safety of staff and students is the district’s top priority."
