Volunteers from the Air Force Academy were at Rampart Reservoir Sunday to help with fire and flood mitigation on the Waldo Canyon burn scar.
More than 160 volunteers formed a "bucket brigade" to move 700 bales of wood-straw, which will be spread out in remote sites and used as mulch later.
Academy volunteers will be back out at the burn scar September 28 and October 5 to build erosion control barriers.
