DENVER (AP) -- An anti-abortion group that sponsored an unsuccessful constitutional amendment in Mississippi says it will try again next year in Colorado, Montana and Oregon.
The Denver Post reports that Personhood USA was unveiling its 2012 campaign Monday. It has campaigned for state constitutional amendments defining life as beginning at fertilization.
Mississippi voters rejected a personhood amendment this year. It sought to ban abortion, and many physicians said it could have made some birth control illegal.
Personhood amendments have failed twice in Colorado.
