Abduction Attempt Connected to Jessica Ridgeway Murder

By  |

Westminster Police say there is definitely a connection between the abduction and murder of Jessica Ridgeway and an earlier abduction attempt. Police say they will not elaborate on what that connection might involve, because they do not want to jeopardize the rest of the investigation.

The other abduction attempt happened on May 28th. A 22 year-old woman said she was running on a trail around Ketner Lake, just a half mile from Jessica Ridgeway’s house.

She said a man attacked her from behind and put a rag over her mouth. She said the rag smelled like chemicals. She was able to get away and call police.

The suspect in that case is described as a white male, approximately 5 foot 6 inches to 5 foot 8 inches tall with a medium build. No vehicle information is available.

10 year-old Jessica Ridgeway was abducted and murdered a little over four months later. She was last seen on her way to school October 5th. Her body was found in Pattridge Park in Arvada on October 1oth.
