They were hoping for their first child and ended up with four tiny miracles. A Colorado Springs couple says they're blessed to have healthy quadruplets.

The quads are being cared for at Memorial Hospital. All four are in the neonatal intensive care unit. The smallest weighed in at 2 pounds 10 ounces with the largest at 3 pounds, 8 ounces.

The quads, Fiona, Eric, Lana and Nathan are just a week old and doctors say they're doing well.

"The babies are doing phenomenally well. They're all on alittle oxygen, which they will probably go home in," said Dr. Robert Kiley, neonatologist at Memorial Hospital.

Mom is doing well too.

"For only being a week out, I think I'm doing pretty well," said Jennifer Last.

Jennifer Last took one of the most common fertility drugs on the market called Clomid. It promotes ovulation. But, it's not supposed to produce multiples, especially quads.

"We warn people that they may have twins, a 5 percent risk. I've never seen quadruplets with Clomid," said Dr. Laura Klein, Maternal Fetal Medicine.

Jennifer Last spent 10 weeks on bed rest at Memorial Hospital and delivered the quads at 31 weeks.

Jennifer and Justin Last say it was a little shocking when they first learned four were on the way.

"We went from thinking we were having one to knowing we were having three to one week later knowing we were having four," said Jennifer Last.

Now that the tiny miracles have arrived.

"We really couldn't be more happy," said Jennifer Last.

"I'd like nothing more than to be here all day just laying back with one on my chest and take alittle nap," said Justin Last.

Justin says he is dreading going back to work on Monday. But, he knows he now has to provide for a family of six.

If all goes well, the babies are expected to go home around their due date in mid-September.
