They had their green cards and were willing to lay down their lives for our nation. Now, they've officially become U.S. citizens.
Thursday, 22 soldiers at Ft. Carson were walked through the naturalization oath ceremony.
"Active duty soldiers are eligible for citizenship as long as they are permanent resident cardholders. And there's no time limit, so they can be a green cardholder one day, and apply for citizenship the next," said Kate McNeely, Immigration Coordinator for Ft. Carson.
Sadly, one of the soldiers who gained citizenship earned it posthumously. PFC JR Salvacion was killed back in February while serving with the 4th Brigade Combat Team in Afghanistan.

I wonder how they would answer the question "Would you fire on US citizens?"
Way to go guys! That's how you get in this country the right way. Thank you for your service. And my condolences to the loved ones of the fallen.
