A Pueblo man, dubbed the "Etherman", has been found guilty on two counts in a peeping tom case in Pueblo County court.

Bruce was found guilty Thursday on two charges, Unlawful Sexual Contact, Observation or Photographs and Criminal Trespassing.

The prosecution proved Bruce was watching a woman through her window when officers arrived at her home. Bruce allegedly ran from the officers and was able to drive off. Bruce was pulled over a short distance away by Pueblo Police officer Nathan Pruce.

Officer Pruce is the same officer who found a makeshift bomb outside of his home on October 6, 2010. It was the same day he was supposed to testify against Bruce in this same case. Bruce also did not show up for his trial that day, and was later arrested.

Investigators say, Bruce’s DNA was found on the makeshift bomb outside officer Pruce’s home. This DNA was later compared to DNA from a series of rapes that occurred mostly in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The two sets of DNA supposedly point to Bruce as the perpetrator of more than a dozen rapes in New Mexico, Texas, and one in Pueblo, Colorado.

The Pueblo rape occurred in July, 2006. In all the rapes, the attacker knocked his victims out by using a chemical soaked rag that often left a chemical burn on their face. The suspect was dubbed the “Ether Man” rapist because of this tactic.

In addition to the peeping tom charges Bruce is facing at this trial, he will be tried for attempted 1st degree murder of Pruce and his family, as well as for the 2006 rape. No dates for those trials have been set yet.

Sentencing is set for October 29 at 10 a.m.
