Springs police have released the names of two robbery suspects arrested late Tuesday night. They are 23-year-old Rio Davis and 24-year-old Michael Goller.
Extra manpower helped the Colorado Springs Police Department arrest the two men. Police say another suspect is still on the loose.
"These guys (detectives) haven't gone to bed. They haven't taken a rest. They're going to get this last guy," said Sgt. Steve Noblitt with the Colorado Springs Police Department.
Sgt. Noblitt says it's too early in the investigation to say whether these men were involved in other robberies. There has been a rash of gas station robberies in Colorado Springs since last Friday.
Tuesday night, police were called to the Diamond Shamrock at 2455 Arlington Drive, near S. Circle and Monterrey around 11 p.m. on reports of an aggravated robbery.
Police say than three black men walked into the store and forced an employee to open the cash register while one of the suspects pointed a gun at him. The suspect all left the store and fled on foot.
A short time later, police got called to an attempted robbery at a Loaf N' Jug on S. Chelton. Police saw the suspects getting away in a car and chased them.
"Our robber detectives, among other things, adjusted their schedules so they could be responsive to this robbery pattern going on," said Sgt. Noblitt.
Police tell us two people ran away from the car during the chase, one was caught after a K-9 unit bit the suspect. He was taken to Memorial hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Officers say the car pulled into the parking lot of the Lincoln Springs near Fountain and Chelton. Then a foot chase began.
"There were about 12 cops walking around with guns out," said one man who saw the police activity on his way home.
In the end, police say two men were arrested. Both men are being held at the Criminal Justice Center on $100,000 bond.
"We're very proud of their dedication and commitment to keeping the community safe," said Sgt. Noblitt.

Wow, MGR... perhaps you should join the CSPD force -- or better yet, school them all in crime prevention with your infinite wisdom.
