Terror Suspect Moved

Al Qaida

Al Qaida

(Denver-AP) -- A Denver native suspected of conspiring to help the al-Qaida was transferred Friday from an Alexandria Virginia jail to Seattle to face charges.

Thirty-six-year-old James Ujaama is expected to be in Seattle by Saturday.

That's according to his Denver lawyer Daniel Sears who says Ujaama is anxious to meet his new attorneys in Seattle and get into court to dispute the charges. An indictment accuses him of conspiracy to provide material support and resources for al-Qaida and with using, carrying, possessing and discharging firearms during a crime.

The indictment contends Ujaama led a conspiracy in 1999 to set up a training camp in Bly, Oregon.

Ujaama was arrested July 22nd at a relative's home in Denver.
