The Trinidad Police Department has concluded a narcotics investigation by issuing arrest warrants for 26 adults and two juveniles.
The charges stem from 78 individual buys of illegal drugs including marijuana, prescription medication, methamphetamine, and cocaine.
Officers executed search warrants for residences located at 403 College, 705 West Baca, and 308 South Beech in conjunction with the arrests.
The investigation, which is the largest sting operation conducted by the Trinidad Police Department, began this Spring and was funded entirely by the City of Trinidad.
The Trinidad Police Department would like to thank the following agencies for their assistance during the arrests: the Las Animas County Sheriff’s Office, Colorado State Parks, the Colorado Bureau of Investigations, Colorado State Patrol and the Department of Corrections.
The searches of the residences were conducted with the assistance of a canine from Colorado State Patrol and three canines from the Department of Corrections.
While this investigation is complete, the war on drugs is fought every day by the Trinidad Police Department.
