Locally heavy rain and snow will impact Southern Colorado through Friday afternoon and early evening. Heaviest snow will favor the mountains, Teller County, and El Paso County. This will lead to difficult travel conditions by Friday morning. Heavy snow will also occur in the higher terrain to the southwest of Pueblo. The storm will wind down later Friday evening. Officials had warned it might take up to six hours to clean up
The Colorado Department of Transportation warns that delays are
still expected, even though all lanes have reopened. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
Meantime, the Colorado Department of Transportation has reopened
Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park.
CDOT officials closed the road earlier today because of adverse
weather conditions, and snow drifts reported to be two-feet high.
Mount Evans Road near Idaho Springs was also closed. It has not yet reopened.
