On Friday, prospective jurors arrived at the Colorado courthouse where NBA star Kobe Bryant's trial will take place.
Many came by car, others by bicycle, on a cool and breezy day. Some appeared to know each other, chatting and laughing as they walked up the circular driveway. All are from the scenic resort area of Eagle County.
About 500 potential jurors are expected to fill out a lengthy questionnaire. The answers will help prosecutors and Bryant's defense attorneys decide who might be most sympathetic to their arguments.
Bryant has pleaded innocent to felony sexual assault, saying he had consensual sex with his accuser, who was then a teenage employee at a local resort.
Attorneys are expected to begin questioning prospective jurors
behind closed doors on Monday.
