Although we are still tracking some light snow and icy/snow covered roads, the biggest concern for the morning will be the frigid temperatures. We are starting off with temperatures a few degrees above/below zero. Due to a breezy wind this morning, our wind chill, or what it "feels" like is well below zero. Please bundle up with numerous layers as you head out this morning. You will likely need to keep all the layers on hand throughout the day as highs reach the teens and low 20s with lingering flurries possible. An explosion and fire prompted the evacuation of a car dealership in downtown Pueblo on Thursday.
A propane tank used to heat tar on a roofing trailer exploded about 10:30 a.m. at Diodosio Motors in downtown Pueblo. A second tank was also reported to be in danger of blowing up, but did not.
Smoke from the initial explosion poured across I-25, limiting visibility and shutting down the road for a few minutes. The 13th Street exit ramps and a 3-block stretch of Santa Fe were also closed while firefighters battled the flames.
No injuries were reported, and no damage estimate has been released.
