Academy medical officials are testing cadets for tuberculosis after one cadet tests positive for the disease.
Approximately 140 cadets who have been in close contact with the cadet were notified Monday night about the situation and testing began on Tuesday. Another approximately 320 cadets will be tested later this week. No new cases have been reported thus far as a result of the testing.
The infected cadet is currently isolated in the Academy hospital. It will take six to eight weeks to confirm whether or not the cadet has the disease. Local public health officials have also been notified and there is no danger to the public.
