Last year, Colorado Springs police investigated 260 rape cases, and responded to more than 8,000 domestic violence calls.

The Polaris Project is a non-profit organization aimed at helping women turn their lives around.

One of the programs uses dogs to help empower the women.

They learn many tasks like how to dial 911.

They eventually want to build a safe house, but they need your help.
