Two wrestlers from Colorado Springs have claimed medals, but the United States exits its Olympic women's wrestling debut without any golds.
Sara McMann, age 23, couldn't hold an early lead in her 138-and-a-half-pound match with world champion Kaori Icho of Japan. McMann lost 3-to-2 to win the silver medal. It was McMann's second difficult loss to Icho in less than a year. McMann also lost 4-to-3 in overtime during last year's world finals.
And Colorado Springs' Patricia Miranda won the bronze medal in her weight class---105-and-a-half pounds. She defeated Angelique Berthenet of France, 12-4, to take third place.
