The Republican primary in Colorado's 3rd District House race is finally over.
According to tallies released Monday by county clerks, former state natural resources chief Greg Walcher beat Matt Smith by 228 votes.
The votes will be certified Wednesday by the secretary of state. If they stand, Walcher will take on Democrat John Salazar in November to succeed Republican Scott McInnis in the House.
Smith is refusing to concede, saying he was still waiting for official results from several counties.
