Snow is expected to develop for our Monday afternoon and overnight hours. Bands of heavier snow are possible..and something we will be monitoring throughout the day today. A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for far northern El Paso County where ~4" are possible by Tuesday morning. Also ahead, a High Wind Watch for much of southeast Colorado from 4-11am Tuesday morning as wind gusts could reach up to 60 mph. The state's unemployment figure saw a slight rise for the month of July.
According to the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment, the jobless rate stands at 5.1% as of last month. That's up point 2 percentage points from June's numbers but down from 6.2% from the same time last year.
Nearly 15 thousand jobs were lost between June and July.
Despite the rise, the department says the rates can fluctuate monthly and the labor market still remains stable.
