Army Details Fort Carson Deaths

Two Fort Carson soldiers who died in Iraq took their own lives. The information comes from Army reports released this week. Those deaths were originally labeled "non-hostile gunshot wounds."

The documents also say officials tried to prosecute an Iraqi for a roadside bombing that took the life of Captain Joshua Byers of
the Third Armored Cavalry Regiment. A suspect was arrested but investigators failed to gather enough evidence to prove he was responsible. No suspects were identified in three other bombings that killed Fort Carson soldiers.

The mountain post has lost 44 soldiers in Iraq, and half of those deaths remain under investigation. Officials say some probes have been slowed by ongoing fighting and manpower problems.
