A system producing heavy snow in the central mountains arrives in SE Colorado overnight Sunday into Monday bringing moisture, windy conditions and colder temperatures. Snow showers will be possible across the I-25 corridor to start the day. This system will produce bands of snow through the day Monday. Areas under these bands will see periods of heavy snowfall which, with windy conditions, could create travel difficulties. Several inches of accumulation will be possible in areas where these bands develop. For more information click the ‘Weather’ tab...
Defense attorneys blame a 16-year-old for masterminding the November 2002 murder of a Crystola couple.
A jury was seated Thursday and opening statements began in the trial of one of two men accused of killing Gary Alflen and Stacy Lee Dahl.
In their statement, defense attorneys for 22-year-old Michael Paprocki blamed co-defendant, 18-year-old Josiah Ivy, for planning the killings. They claim the then 20-year Paprocki only wanted to rob the victims, while the then 16-year-old Ivy wanted to kill them.
Prosecutors argue both defendants are equally responsible for the slayings.
Ivy will have a competency hearing in October to determine whether he's mentally fit to stand trial.
