A man accused of claiming to be a Denver Broncos player to gain the trust of people and steal their information has been sentenced to 48 years in prison.

The long sentence was imposed Friday after 41-year-old Amadeus Harlan was deemed a habitual criminal for having 13 felony convictions. Jefferson County jurors convicted Harlan in December of identity theft and motor vehicle theft.

Prosecutors say Harlan told people he played for the Broncos to gain the trust of people whose personal information he later used to get expensive cars and loans.

Harlan was 16 when he was first convicted of a felony. In that case, he was found guilty of second-degree murder for the death of his mother's boyfriend.

Harlan is a man, he was raised in Denver and yes, he did kill HIS mother's boyfriend but I was told he was 12. He said he was a Bronco but went by his own name, Amadeus, which he created himself, his real name, is Johnny or there are many other alias'. This story is as strange as it sounds and Obama wasn't in office when this man started being a criminal so let's not blame the President.

I'm confused. Is Harlen a man or a woman? You state "Harlen was 16 when he was first convicted of a felony. In that case, he was found guilty of 2nd degree murder for the death of her mother's boyfriend." "HER" mother's boyfriend? Did you leave something out of this report?

I wonder which Bronco he was telling people he was? A TRUE Bronco fan would know difference.
